The Philippines has some unique deserts that are a category of their own. Now who would have thought that a cake with a grated cheese topping would be so desirable in full of flavours. I talking about a Yema Cake a large 300 mm square cake guaranteed to satisfy everyone’s tastes it’s sweet but not sickly sweet it’s savoury but a subtle savoury flavour. It’s perfectly moist and delicious they also have delicious cupcakes one of my favourites is the purple sweet potato muffins. Like I said it is a Cake Shop that specialises in Philippine deserts. You will not regret it, trust me on this one.

Balays Bakery or Balays Specials is the best for their cakes especially the Ube/Purple cake.. Very moist and perfect! I had tried different bakers but nothing beats their cake. Also, they do sell custard mamon/bread. Their bread is soft and not dry. They do have different variety of Filipino deserts and will also pass the western taste. love the service and quality of food. They’re cheaper in the market.
This is where you buy the finest Filipino cakes and desserts in Southeast Melbourne! Their ube cake is a family favorite and have become our friends fave too! But all the others are very light, fresh and delicious as well!
